| "With trumpets and sounds of the Shofar, praise the Lord." Psalm 98:6 Spiritual Warfare Prayer Warriors

Do not be afraid---I am with you! I am your God---let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you. [Isa 41:10]
Prayer is being in the presence of God. It is the place where pride is forgotten, hope is lifted, and supplication is made to Abba through our Lord Jesus. Prayer is the place of admitting our needs, of taking on humility, and claiming total dependence upon God.
Have you experienced the mysterious, the strange quietness of The Stillness of God in Prayer?
Not the stillness brought about by the absence of noise or of the cessation of auditory invasion, but the quietness brought about by the sealing of the ears by the Spirit of God, when we are deep in Prayer.
It is the stillness of God; the Stillness of the Holy; The stillness of the Soul; The stillness of the presence of God when we are deep in our Prayer closet.
The Psalmist records God’s counsel, “Be still and know that I am God.”
Prayer changes the one praying because in prayer, you are in the presence of God as you lay before Him your complete self in confession and dependence. There is nothing to hide when in quiet supplication we are reaching into the deepest part of ourselves and admitting our needs and failures. In so doing, our hearts are quieted and pride is stripped and we enjoy the presence of God.
Why be in this state of Prayer, Does prayer change God’s mind?
In thinking about this one first has to determine, What is prayer? We have defined prayer as communication with God or in the presence of God.
Prayer is not primarily asking of God, prayer is primarily about intimacy with God. When we are intimate with God it changes our asking. Asking is something we do of our earthly fathers and it is also something we do of our heavenly father.
As a Dad, I get asked many things. And one thing I have learned over the years is that I have had to say no many, many times. Why? Because my children asked of me many things that would not be good for them if I said yes. I must say no because I loved them. They also asked of me things that did not fit into the plan for that day. For me to say yes would be disruptive to what must be accomplished. Now, as a human father I am fallible. Sometimes I say no when I should say yes. Sometimes I say yes when I should say no. Sometimes I act like I am not listening. But God is infallible.
He is perfectly wise in all of his dealings with us and he is perfectly good in all of his dealings with us. So God answers our prayers always according to his character. He never answers our prayers because he gives in to us or thinks we have a better argument, etc. God always answers according to his purposes and plan. We can rest assured that God always hears and responds for our good.
So what should we pray for. We should pray for those close to us, We should pray for others, We should pray and when our prayers are not answered right away in our time, remember this: If we knew what the Lord knew about the final outcome of our prayer, we wouldn't change a thing. Because we are our Father's children and as His child He wants the best for us.

Spiritual Survival Handbook by Rev. K. A. Brown.
Regardless of our age, gender, or life experiences, knowing God and accepting His love is the foundation for spiritual survival and the barrier against evil forces. Why? Because His love is stronger than any power in the universe. It broke the devil's back. [ excerpt from this book ]
